Fore Street Methodist Church is probably unique. We are a one church circuit. Many years ago there was the little chapel in the tiny hamlet of Ninnis Bridge, four miles away, to the south of Trencrom Hill. This was our only other congregation within the circuit. The building was sold for housing which left FSMC. There is the St Ives & Hayle Circuit, which has several churches in and around the town, but FSMC is not a part of it. We have for many years employed our own full time pastor, not neccesarily Methodist.
The Methodist Church is still organised in a methodical way using many of the structures introduced by the class leaders following the passing of its founder, John Wesley. However, the Church is quite pragmatic, and is willing to make changes where they are appropriate. There is a church council, with representatives from across the congregation. There is also currently a circuit steward and several church stewards.
Each individual ministry has a leader or committee. Volunteers are often willing and are accommodated where possible with great appreciation. Children's workers are all CRB checked.
